Gaelic Park is proud to be Home of the GAA in Chicago. The GAA [Gaelic Athletic Association] is an international amateur athletic association based in Dublin, Ireland, which governs the play of Gaelic Football, Hurling, Camogie and Handball worldwide. It has jurisdiction over league games in Ireland, Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States.
In the US, the GAA is under the North American Board. Games are played weekly throughout the summer months in Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Los Angles, Philadelphia, Florida and many other cities. The winners in various divisions have regional playoffs, and the regional winners converge on one city for the National Playoffs and Championships over Labor Day Weekend. Gaelic Park was proud to host the 2007 playoffs, with teams participating from 28 U.S. cities playing 74 games in 10 divisions of Football and Hurling.
