The Chicago Gaelic Athletic Association

The heart & soul of Gaelic Park is in its sports!
The Chicago GAA

The relationship between the G.A.A. and Gaelic Park in Chicago has a long and fruitful history. Gaelic Games were first played at Gaelic Park in the summer of 1984 when a Senior Men’s Football Championship match between the St. Brendan’s and the Wolfe Tones took place. Since then many clubs have come and gone.

The present day G.A.A. in Chicago is strong with three Senior Men’s Football teams, five Junior Men’s Football teams, two Ladies Football teams, four Senior Hurling teams, and two Camogie teams. The thirteen clubs that represent the Chicago G.A.A. are dispersed between the north and south sides of Chicago and all claim Gaelic Park as their home pitch.
